Over 100 police personnel and "yasamnikim" (special riot forces) infiltrated the community of Kedumim through an Arab village after being held off by Kedumim residents for three days at the front gate.
Handing out work cessation orders at buidling sites where construction began long before Netanyahu's recent freeze edict, a violation of the edict's parameters, the forces turned ugly and beat women and children who passively resisted their progress.
Attempts were made by security forces to confisgate machinery which was not in operation, again in violation of the edict and with no apparent provocation.
The escalation reflected strong words from Yesha Council leaders on Saturday night at an emergency meeting held in Ofra stating that the edict and brutal behavior of the government forces are a precusor to evacuation of Jewish communities in Yehuda and Shomron, similar to that of Gush Katif.
Yesha residents were urged to resist with all their strength of conviction - everything short of violence.
