Rabbi Chai, 45, father of seven, who was murdered on Thursday by Arab terrorists, was laid to rest Friday morning in Jerusalem.
Thousands came from all parts of Israel to accompany the beloved religious studies teacher to his final resting place.
Renewed terror on the roads at this critical time in the prisoner exchange process brings home very clearly to one and all the reality of Arab terrorists set free to search out new prey.
But for the Chai family whose youngest member is a 2 month only baby girl, the tragedy is more than a political message. All of Israel mourns together with them for the senseless waste of human life. Rabbi Chai's widow is a teacher at the Ulpana High School for Girls. Her husband was known for volunteering to study with the son of a neighbor who was killed by terrorists.
Although several politicians, among them Shas minister, Eli Ishai, Uri Ariel, Yaacov Katz (Ketzeleh) and others, were present, the funeral was overwhelming a personal, devastatingly sad one not used for a political platform, although the message was clear.
