Arab MK: Settlers are a malignant tumor

Vote Up Vote Down Vote Tallied Vote Tallied

Once again proving that there just when you thought you "got it" as far as the pathetic level of rhetoric spouted in the knesset, an MK manages to go even lower, Arab representative Taleb A-Sanaa gave some pause in the knesset meeting this week .

Heard the saying, "Been down so long, everything looks like up to me."? There we were again when Arab MK Sanaa spewed hatred against the Jews living in Yesha and the MKs who have the audacity to support their civil rights.

What civil rights? claimed the elected representative of Israeli Arabs. There is no connection between the concept of civil rights and Jews who live in Yesha...excuse me, "settlers"...in his mind.

At the start of the meeting, Sanaa alleged that settlers were "undermining the government and High Court rulings and attending Knesset sessions only to instill terror," later accusing settler MKs of conducting themselves "as though the Knesset were the the Council of Jewish Communities of Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip." He also vehemently rejected "any connection" between the settlers and civil rights.

Calling the settlers "unjustifiable vermin," Sanaa stated that Jewish West Bank residents kept themselves occupied by "chasing and abusing" others. "According to international law, they cannot be there (in Yesha). They are a malignant tumor," he concluded.

Committee chairman MK David Rotem (Israel Beiteinu) replied with his usual sharp, ironical wit, "If the settlers are a malignant tumor in the body of the Palestinian state, we hope the tumors will grow until the Palestinian state ceases to exist."

MK Michael Ben-Ari (National Union) consequently accused Sanaa of incitement against settlers.

Yes, folks, another day at the highest decision-making body of the State of Israel.
