Z Street vs J Street at Hillel Campus Hall

J Street, the left-leaning organization referred to by the Israeli government as "a unique problem" and considered "pro-Ishmael instead of pro-Israel", is launching its grassroots initiative on February 4, 2009. This event will be held in a Hillel building at the University of Pennsylvania campus.

Many in the Jewish community are questioning the connection between J Street and Hillel for this event, puzzled by the association of J Street messages with Jewish college students.

Z Street, the organization that came into existence to counter the positioning of J Street in the Jewish street, has decided to organize an event in the same Hillel in order to show the masses what true pro-Israel, pro-peace folks look like.

Z Street is using this event not to bash J Street, but to have an educational, inspirational and energizing event that will provide at least the following two things:

1. Factual explanations for why the J Street mantra - a palestinian state NOW, imposed on the parties by the US and/or the international community - will be a catastrophe for Israel, hugely de-stabilizing for the Middle East and have dire consequences beyond

2. Why it is essential to prepare and support the preparation for a military response to Iran even as "dialogue" and meetings continue and economic sanctions begin

Mitchell bard of Myths and Facts and teh Virtual Jewish Library will speaking at the event.
